Territory (markets and orgs)
Introduction
This section focuses on applying processes and best practices to seek standard solutions, whilst recognising and accommodating adaptation needed to meet geniue market- and organisation- specific needs.
Introduction to Territories
Here we describe the aspects surrounding where we do things
- internally - within the Organisation where the organisation includes the company and its partners, vendors, suppliers and other key groups working together to deliver
- externally - where the focus is on meeting customer needs in defined markets, which come with the own mix of competitive, cultural and legislative needs
Internally
As a formal statement,
we look towards using consistent standards and practices to allow multiple groups to collaborate, share data, gain efficiences etc with minimum disruption.
As a informal statement
we aim to stop reinventing the wheel and adding to the sprawl, and instead get the most out of developing, using and sharing our solutions throughout the company. Plus go about our business in a compatible, standardized approach with our external stakeholders
Externally
Initially
As a formal statement
deliver our solutions in a consistent manner, and do so with recogition of the value of meeting local needs
- culturally e.g. local language
- competitively e.g. how we market, how we transact, how we support
- legally e.g. adhering to local legislation in areas such as privacy, digital business etc.
- environmentally - not just green and sustainable but recognise the varying technology environments of our global audience
As an informal statement
think localisation from the outset - be Swedish! Excel in communicating globally and chatting locally replace a free-for-all, unstructured and inconsitent approach for more consistent approach in everything from naming standards to technology choices so we can share and leverage solutions wherever possible
Beyond geography
meet the needs of diverse demographics from new mothers to eldery in care cater for consumers and business customers in the most appropriate manner from communications channel to content and solution provisioning
Practically
We also should acknowledge we cannot viably serve all territories, so the approach needs to be balanced, optimal and pragmatic. Think of have a strong, capable core, but with the adaptability to meet broad needs. Perhaps most simply described by a picture, leaving the reader to continually reflect on when standards and territories reach insufficient viability to purse further.
